About HERITAGE Foster Initiative Uganda 


Nothing worth celebration on earth than having a healthy and a joyful mother in a home.  On 5th April 1998 was a dark day when Ojara Francis equally lost his happiness as an infant in a home, when everyone else, had lost taste of anything nice, on losing a mother who battled a long standing reproductve health issue. Imagine losing a sole bread winner mother from a home! It has been on that background where HERITAGE Foster Initiative was Founded to address the maternal child health and social life aspects among the most vulnerable section of society.  

 

HERITAGE Foster Initiative Uganda is a Charitable Community Based Organization (CBO) fully registered with Omoro District Local Government with registration number 5407-2022.

HERITAGE seeks to address the health challenges of the most vulnerable women, children and disabled persons, improve family lives, rehabilitate the persons with health complications, from the post conflict regions of northern Uganda, East Africa.

Goal

To improve access to health services for vulnerable women, children and family through improve access and quality reproductive and child health and adolescent health services.


Our Vision

To strategically improve the sexual reproductive health status of vulnerable women, children and disability persons to elevate their family lives through integrated approach, partnerships, collaboration education and research that will build a transformed community.

Strategic Goal

HERITAGE Foster Initiative Uganda seeks to improve the Reproductive health status of the vulnerable women within the reproductive age, children and the disability persons, that is community-centred through exploring digital innovations and research based evidence.

We rely on research based information, innovations and do researches for its effectiveness and efficiency in a continuously changing world in order to save a life. 

Equality: 

We believe that in God’s kingdom, every human being is born with equal rights and deserves equal treatment.

We therefore advocate that vulnerable women and children that are normally pushed to the periphery of most programs in the community are treated equally.


Accountability and transparency:      

We understand that resources are scarce and the needs in our communities are great. We therefore believe we have an obligation to be good stewards and to utilize our resources strategically and thoughtfully. We demand ourselves high standard of professionalism and accountability to our beneficiaries, donors and development partners.


Community Centered Partnership (Participation):

 We believe that people are the primary actors in their own survivals and development. They therefore need to be involved actively in our project design and implementations. We believe in partnership with government, donors, communities and other stakeholders who value life. We understand mutual collaborations that are legally bound, with practical obligations to saving vulnerable mothers and children.

Health promotion    

HERITAGE aims at good health promotion, and condition prevention, through improving the health seeking behavior among the vulnerable section of the community, that are normally pushed to the periphery of most programs.
